This collage took an absurd amount of time to create even though it might not show it. The original design came from a small, much more simplified thumbnail that I sketched several years ago as a potential concept for a project, but did not end up using at that time. From this small thumbnail I made an *ahem* larger thumbnail where I made much more specific design decisions. Then, finally, I measured each object's placement as accurately as I could and converted the measurements up to the scale I wanted. It ended up taking many more hours (days?) than I had originally anticipated, but I liked the result. I painted each piece of collage using inkwash (ink diluted in water), and even repainted several pieces after I discovered that the inkwash pooled in little droplets on top of some of my scrap bristol board, creating a cool texture that I wanted to incorporate as a last minute touch.
