This drawing was done for a project in my 2d design class. For our final project we could choose and kind of media, so I went with my staple: a simple graphite No.2 pencil. For references I went online and found several stock photographs that would determine the pose, hair, face, and dress that were combined to make this drawing. The original black and white drawing took about six hours to complete. I then scanned it into photoshop, made level adjustments, and colored it using nothing but layer filters (overlay, color dodge & burn) and the paint brush tool. This method preserved the line quality. I may have darkened the original image a bit too much when making level adjustments. When compared to the original drawing the girl appears to have aged, which was not my intent.
